Raccoon sculpture - Tish Campbell Exhibition

Raccoon- small stoneware sculpture in underglazes, oxides and glazes, wire whiskers.

Here’s a little spirit animal raccoon to brighten your day. I enjoy making small creatures now and then, it gives my brain a good workout thinking of how to capture their likeness in clay and which surface designs would enhance their features.

My high school friend said my spirit animal was a raccoon way back then, because of their nimble hands. She was a dormouse because of her ability to sleep anywhere…. Including during biology class. We’d daydream and think of our teachers and classmates as different animals when we were bored.
